The Runaway Elf is an Earthling in the ToeJam & Earl series.
An Elf (plural Elves) is a small servant of Santa and the maker of presents.

Elves are a rare Earthling, seen in ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth in The Snowy Zone, they are said to responsible for dropping presents (although presents play a much smaller role in this game than in previous games).
ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove[]
Elves can be found randomly, in all areas, although more common in earlier levels. They can also be found hiding in bushes or behind trees, or within presents themselves. They run around shouting "can't catch me!" in a high-pitched, playful tone. If ToeJam or Earl touches one, they will drop a present before dissappearing.
