Funkotron or Planet Funk-O-Tron is the home planet of ToeJam and Earl.
Funkotron is featured briefly in ToeJam & Earl and ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove as a final 'level' to explore.
Funkotron is the main setting of ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron, and some levels take place on Funkotron's moons.
Description[]
The conditions on Funkotron are similar to Earth in many ways, with similar atmosphere and gravity, and the biggest difference being that the trees and grass are mainly purple instead of green. Funkotron is located in a binary solar system, which means that it has two suns.[1] The planet is in orbit around, or near to, a red-and-purple ringed gas giant, and Funkotron has many moons itself.[2]
Life on Funkotron comes in wildly varied colours, shapes and sizes. Funkotronians are intelligent and generally humanoid, although with differing sets of eyes or limbs. They are laid-back and live in peaceful co-existence, with their culture entirely centered around 'funk'. Their language, music and style is heavily influenced by late 1980s/early 1990s hip hop and rap from Earth. Funky music is constantly playing, and even the trees and bushes dance and sway to the funk. They are led by the Funkopotamous, who is in posession of the holiest of Funkotron relics, the Sacred Albums of Funk. The Funkopotamous is currently Lamont.
Funkotron technology has advanced to space-faring ability, but they tend to stay away from violent and 'uncool' planets such as Earth. As seen in the most recent game, satellite loudpeakers surround the planet.
