Funk Fu

Funk Fu is a gameplay mechanic in ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth and ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove.

ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth

Unlike other games in the series, players have access to the basic Funk Fu attack at any time by pressing X. This attack is used to convert other Earthlings and bring them over to the Ways of the Funk. Funk Fu can be used to uncover hidden objects on the map.

Both the player and Earthlings have belt levels; if the player's belt level is less than an Earthling's, then the Earthling will block the attack. Belt levels are raised via Promotion, or can be maximized temporarily by the Black Belt present.

The Funk Fu Blast and Mega Funk Fu Blast presents are a stronger area-of-effect version of Funk Fu.

ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove

Funk Fu makes a reappearance in the form of the unlockable Funk Fu Blast present. The blast can be fired left or right and pops any Earthling it touches.
