Earth is the home planet of Earthlings, both friendly and hostile.
Appearances[]
Earth is the main setting for the first game, when ToeJam and Earl, two aliens from Funkotron, crash their Rapmaster Rocketship on Earth after hitting an asteroid. They need to collect the ten peices of their ship and reassemble it in order to leave. In this game, the planet is depicted as a series of vertical platforms ascended to by elevator. These make up the 25 'levels'. Falling off an edge is not harmful in itself, but the player will find themselves back on the level below. Types of levels are confined to grassland, water and desert.
Earth is also the main setting of ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth. Regions include grassy, urban, desert, snowy, and water zones.
Since ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove is a soft reboot of the first game, this game also takes place on Earth. In this game it is explained that Earth is transformed into 'levels' by Earl activating the black hole generator of the Rapmaster Rocketship too close to the planet, mistaking it for the subwoofer. This distorts the planet from a globe into the familar series of horizontal platforms. The levels have a wider variety, such as some levels being covered in ice and snow, and other levels taking place at night where a torch is required to see.
